Final Assesment Rubric

1. You will be divided into small groups.

2. In your group, pick one of the following scenarios. Your group will create a three minute digital video on the scenario. You will need to convey the problem in your scenerio. Other students will be commenting on your scenario. Please make sure to edit your video and be creative!

Scenarios:

A. Two students log on to an MySpace chat room and locate another classmate also currently online. They begin to harass the student by posting “flaming” messages to that student’s account. Why is this wrong?

B. A middle school student uses LimeWire to access a newly released song and download it to put onto his iPod. Why is this wrong?

C. Two students working together on a paper about keyboarding in elementary classes discover a website on Google that is written by a leading resource on keyboarding. The students find the information to be exactly what they need to finish their paper. They cut and paste text directly from the website directly into their Word document. Why is this wrong?

D. A middle school girl pays to rent a copy of High School Musical from her local McDonalds. She decides that this is one of her favorite movies after watching it, but knows she doesn’t have the money to buy a copy. She decides to use some software designed for copying DVDs to burn a copy for herself. Why is this wrong?

E. Or make a scenario of your own that fits into our two weeks of digital citizenship. Check with your teacher to make sure it is okay.

3. Once your video is edited and completed, upload your video to Voicethread.

4. Your group will then respond using Voicethread to other group's videos. Identify the problem in the scenario using terms you have learned this week. Also include a possible solution to the scenario. Make sure you provide thoughtful reflection on the scenarios

Creative Commons Postings

Write in your own words what creative commons means. Make sure you have watched the video on the Reading/Watching/Listening/Doing first!

CC allows you to share all or parts of your work for the world to use.

Gives the average creator ownership and control of his/her materials

Creative Commons is a method to give users some rights to your intellectual property. This allows collaborative works to be created more easily than is possible with the current copyright law.

CC allows the artist/creator to grant some rights to others to use their work within the boundries the artist sets. It's free and easy for both the artist and the end user to take advantage of.

Work that you are willing to share with millions of people. You still have control over the content but have the freedom to allow others to use it and perhaps even alter it and add more to it.- Theressa

Creative Commons means that you control how people are able to use your work. You can allow people to use your work without having to ask your permission.

Creative Commons allows individuals/groups to decide how they want to have their work used or may not be used at all.

Creative Commons gives you the chance as an artist to give permission for other people to use your piece.
